Accused Ramo Brkić Ordered Into Pre-Trial Custody

SARAJEVO, June 19(FENA) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision in the Ramo Brkić case, ordering the accused Ramo Brkić into pre-trial custody, which, under the decision, may last for a maximum of one year, running from the day of arrest or pending a new decision of the Court, on the grounds laid down in Article 132(1)a) of the BiH Criminal Procedure Code, or on the grounds of flight risk.

At the same hearing, the Court issued another decision, rendering out of force the decision issued by the Court of BiH on 11 March 2016, No. S1 2 K 021199 16 K, to order the accused Ramo Brkić into pre-trial custody.

On 25 May 2019, the accused Ramo Brkić was arrested in Slovenia under international warrant, and was in the framework of extradition procedure extradited to the relevant authorities in BiH on 18 June 2019. The Indictment issued by the BiH Prosecutor's Office on 17 June 2015, confirmed on 22 June 2015, charged Senad Šabić and Ramo Brkić with the criminal offense of Giving Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit under Article 218(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
