FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, June 24 (FENA) - Autopsy and identification of victims whose remains were found in the mass grave at Korićanske stijene began today in the premises of the Identification Center Šejkovača in Sanski Most.

So far, the analysis of bone specimens taken from the remains found in this grave has arrived which confirmed 63 new victims, while part of the remains belong to those who were previously exhumed, and in that sense will be reassocating these remains with the previously identified ones, said the Missing Persons Institute of BiH.

All autopsies and identifications will be done continuously every day until July 10 this year. It is planned that most of the identifications will be completed by then.

At the same time, after confirming the identity of the victims, the families will decide whether to give their consent to their burial at a collective burial planned for July 20 in Prijedor, the statement said.

After the end of this process, the total number of victims whose remains will be buried this year will be known.
