SANSKI MOST, July 1 (FENA) - As part of the 75th anniversary of the marking of the Second Session of ZAVNOBiH in Sanski Most, a roundtable on the importance of the session for the development of statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held today. Numerous prominent scientific and public persons from BiH participated in the debate.
The Chairman of the Committee for marking the 75th anniversary of ZAVNOBiH, Nijaz Skenderagić, said that ZAVNOBiH is one of the most important events in the history of BiH.
“We should be proud that the foundations of statehood were built here and that some of the messages and lessons from that time are still present today. I would particularly emphasize that BiH has its own thousand-year tradition and if the Charter of Ban Kulin is its birth certificate, then ZAVNOBiH is its ID,” he said.
Academician Mirko Pejanović said that “this second session meant a turnaround in relation to the first session, and this reversal was reflected in the fact that an important historical decision was made to make ZAVNOBiH into the legislative body, the highest authority and at the same time the bearer of the legislative role and the executive authority. “
“Based on the second session of ZAVNOBiH, Bosnia and Herzegovina has received its true national representation, its parliament,” said Pejanović.
It was, as he said, an expression of the aspirations of BiH citizens to build and regulate their own federal Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Historian Husnija Kamberović emphasized the significance of values defined at the session in Sanski Most.
“At the Second Session, Bosnia and Herzegovina was defined as a state of equal peoples who govern their country in agreement, jointly and as a whole country. Thus, it insists on two fundamental concepts, namely the integrity of BiH and the equality of all peoples. These two principles were the foundation of the functioning of the Bosnian Republic from 1942 until the beginning of the 1990s,” Kamberović said.
The 75th anniversary of the Second Session of ZAVNOBiH was organized by the League of Anti-Fascists and National Liberation Army fighters in BiH in cooperation with the Municipality of Sanski Most.
