ZENICA, July 3 (FENA) - The Sarajevo Regional Development Agency SERDA presented today the fourth public call for grants in the Zenica-Doboj Canton Chamber of Commerce within the Challenge to Change project, intended for innovative business ideas in the field of production and services.

The deadline for applying for the third call is July 16. All applications are to be submitted online, which, as they say, reduces costs for applicants.

“The program was established in 2016. The registered business owners in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in Sweden, have at their disposal a fund of EUR 3 million.

According to the program, between 700,000 and 800,000 euros will be made available, but if there are good and innovative ideas, it does not limit us to supporting them over the estimated amount,” said Sanela Dževlan, Senior Manager of SERDA, adding that the fund was set up to encourage innovation in small and medium enterprises.

She added that there was a big response to the past three calls, and they received 1,802 applications.

“The maximum amount of grant funds for start-up companies is 10,000 euros, (companies registered for a half a year to two years), and for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with up to 250 employees, which exist more than two years, 30,000 euros.

Employers have the obligation to ensure minimal participation in the investment of 50 percent of the total funds,” explained Dževlan.

The funds are provided through the Challenge to Change - C2C program, implemented by the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency SERDA and the RS Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises Banja Luka, financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) through the Swedish Embassy in BiH. Partner in the project is the Ostergotland region in Sweden.
