Orthodox priest arrested in Višegrad, explosives found in his possession

VIŠEGRAD, July 4 (FENA) -The RS Police in an operation codenamed “Lutka” (Doll), aimed at breaking up a criminal group that deals with illegal production and trafficking in explosive devices, as well as firearms, arrested one person in Višegrad today, in whose possession they found explosives and weapons, confirmed to FENA head of the RS MoI Public Relations Department Mirna Miljanović.

A person with initials B.G. has been deprived of liberty. Unofficially, he is a priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church, from the eparchy in Višegrad, and is suspected of having committed criminal offense of illicit production and trafficking of explosive materials.

The searches were conducted at three locations; two in Rogatica and one in Višegrad, and the police seized about two kilograms of different explosives, several pieces of detonators, mines, ammunition of different caliber, SIM cards and mobile phones.

The arrested person, according to Miljanović, is being processed, and during the day, he will be taken to the competent prosecutor's office.
