SARAJEVO, July 5 (FENA) - Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) Mirsad Purivatra and Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka presented a joint project today in the City Hall which is concerned with a new look for the traditional red carpet starts have walked on in the past.
This year, they want to make a Bosnian carpet.
Director of SFF, Purivatra told reporters that the new red carpet is a blend of traditional and contemporary, and this year it will be set in front of the National Theater Sarajevo in honor of film authors, artists and audiences.
“We are glad to have a new red carpet for the jubilee edition of the Festival. It was inspired and made with respect and love for tradition. We believe that the new red carpet will be a unique moment for all those who come to the 25th Sarajevo Film Festival. We are grateful to the City of Sarajevo and the Mayor for their support in the realization of this project. The new red carpet is a celebration of past successes, but also a roadmap for the future,” said Purivatra.
Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka points out that for the second year in a row, the City of Sarajevo will give a significant financial contribution that, he thinks, the Sarajevo Film Festival deserves.
“But this is not the only thing we are prepared to do. The Bosnian Carpet Project for the Sarajevo Film Festival is an example of talent and creativity in the promotion of our permanent values. We sincerely feel as part of a team that has made a new value in the world for 25 years,” Skaka emphasized.
After the extensive research of Bosnian-Herzegovinian carpets from the collection of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the creative team of the Sarajevo Film Festival was inspired by the elements found in carpets from Sarajevo dating back to 1930.
The Sarajevo Film Festival will be held from 16 to 23 August under the auspices of UNESCO with the motto “Sarajevo, mon amour”.
