SARAJEVO, July 8 (FENA) - The fourth public call for grants under the Challenge to Change project is open until July 16. Business entities with innovative business ideas, products or services are encouraged to apply as this could help them deal with reduction in unemployment, an increase in competitiveness and sustainable socio-economic development in BiH.
At today's presentation of this public call at the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo, it was pointed out that the grant funds have been secured through the Challenge to Change - C2C program implemented by the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency (SERDA) and the Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises Banja Luka, financially supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency - Sida and the Swedish Embassy in BiH.
Sanela Dževlan from SERDA noted that in the past period, there were three calls, and within the two of them, 58 contracts with beneficiaries were signed after which EUR 1.3 million were allocated from the Challenge Fund.
Contracting is in process at the moment with 50 grant beneficiaries for which the fund will allocate about 1.2 million euros.
“Thanks to the implementation of these 58 projects from the first two calls, 300 new jobs will be created, the funds have been secured, and as for the beneficiaries of the grant from the third call, we expect about 220 new jobs to be created upon the implementation of their project activities,” said Dževlan.
