SARAJEVO, July 11 (FENA) - Genocide denial is unacceptable and the OSCE Mission to BiH strongly condemns statements by public officials who deny convicted crimes, including genocide, said Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Ambassador Bruce G. Berton.

He emphasized the OSCE Mission to BiH reminds all leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina of the Declaration on War Crimes adopted in 2018, which was signed at the Western Balkan Summit in London within the Berlin Process.

Ambassador Berton told FENA that according to the Declaration, BiH is committed to recognize and follow the rulings of the international and local courts related to war crimes and other severe international crimes, and prevent hate speech and glorification of war criminals.

"Politicians should focus on the future of BiH, promotion of mutual understanding, tolerance and dialogue, and abstain from interpreting and manipulating the past for their own political gain," emphasized Ambassador Berton.

Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH will attend the burial ceremony of 33 genocide victims in Srebrenica today.
