Novalić - Hohmann: There can be no economic progress without faster development

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 12 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić received today Christiane Hohmann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany at the FBiH Government headquarters in Sarajevo in a farewell visit.

Although the visit was a symbolic in character, there were inevitable topics on the current situation in BiH, the formation of power at state and entity levels, the restructuring of the economy, and the situation with the company Alumunij Mostar.

The two officials agreed that, without the faster development of the economy there can be no progress, political and any other stability, stopping the departure of young people, and strengthening the rule of law.

Novalić stressed the importance of good relations between the two countries, especially in the field of trade exchange and the importance of German investments in the economy of BiH.

He said that the strengthening of the rule of law and the creation of a more favorable business climate are the conditions without which BiH will not be able to move forward in the development of the domestic market and its economy.

When it comes to the company Aluminij Mostar, Novalić said he regretted the company's situation, primarily due to the state of the aluminum market globally, which at the moment is extremely unfavorable for this company, but also the apparent shortcomings in the management within the Aluminij itself.

The termination of the work of the Mostar production giant Novalić explained as the ruthlessness of the politics over the economy, stressing that this is primarily a matter of economy and that it can be solved only by economic measures.

Ambassador Hohmann wished her host to continue on the reform path, saying that our country, as it has been until now, will have the support of the Federal Republic of Germany on its path to the European Union, stated the Public Relations Office of the FBiH Government.
