MOSTAR, July 15 (FENA) - Dragan Čović, president of HDZ BiH and HNS BiH said on Monday in Mostar that he does not feel responsible for the operations of the company ‘Aluminij’ Mostar whose production facilities were shut down on the night of July 9-10, after which the company was disconnected from the high-voltage electricity grid.
“I carry absolutely no personal or moral, or whatever you want to call it, responsibility for all this. I have never, ever called somebody and asked them to do this or that. They were the ones that called me and asked if something could be worked out,” Čović said during the break at a joint meeting of the Presidency of HDZ and the HNS.
“Those who sucked out millions of KM from ‘Aluminij’ Mostar are now trying to protect their position, but it will not be allowed. Everything will come out, all until the last KM. Whoever those persons might be, even my closest family members, they will be held responsible because Dragan has never secured a job for anyone in the Aluminij in the last 15-20 years,” he added.
He estimated that enormous damage has been made and that everything will be known to the public once the audit is completed in the company for all the operations for the past 20 years.
He added that "the company could be saved and be put on a sound economic basis", but that the most important thing is for 900 workers to save their jobs and that “solutions will be sought in order to make that happen.”
