BiH Presidency and Wolters on cooperation of Allied Forces of Europe with BiH

SARAJEVO, July 16 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik and BiH Presidency members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović briefed Tod Wolters, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), on the current political situation in BiH and discussed the alliance's cooperation with BiH.

“In this context, progress has been made in the field of defense, armed forces and security cooperation,” it is stated.

General Wolters expressed his commitment to the further contribution of Allied forces to the process of building peace and prosperity in BiH as well as the Western Balkans and beyond.

He especially thanked members of the BiH Presidency for the engagement of the Armed Forces of BiH in peacekeeping missions in the world. It was noted that over the past decade, more than 1,500 BiH soldiers were engaged in peacekeeping missions in the world.

It was hoped that this cooperation would continue and that capacities for future participation in missions would be strengthened.

“Planned military exercises, in cooperation with the Allied forces, are fueled by further development of cooperation with BiH, promoting peace and prosperity in the Western Balkans and beyond,” said the Press Service of the BiH Presidency.

The members of the BiH Presidency thanked General Tod Wolters and wished him success in the performance of his duties.
