SARAJEVO, July 17 (FENA) - Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdić extended his congratulations to Ursula von der Leyen on behalf of the Council of Ministers of BiH and himself on the occasion of her appointment as the President of the European Commission.
Zvizdić said that the primary foreign policy objective of Bosnia and Herzegovina is integration into the European Union.
BiH, he added, shares with the EU the same geographical area, the same cultural and historical heritage, the same challenges and hopes.
“Therefore, I am particularly happy that a person that will lead the European Commission is someone dedicated to strengthening European values of unity, equality, solidarity, security and prosperity.
You set challenging goals in your address. All countries in the Western Balkans region expect that one of the important goals will continue to be the integration of our region into the European Union.
We are looking forward to future cooperation and we want to assure you that you will continue to have an honest partner in our country, as in it has been in the past four years, a partner that is committed to adhering to European principles and standards, regional cooperation, peace, stability and economic development.
I wish you success at the head of the European Commission and I invite you to visit Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a region that prides itself of being a focal point of different cultures and shared values," said Denis Zvizdić, Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers.
