BANJA LUKA, July 19 (FENA) - With majority of votes exceeding the required two-thirds majority, the National Assembly of RS last night in session confirmed the statement of a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik that the Conclusion of the Presidency of BiH on the Official position of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the continuation of the construction of the Komarna-Pelješac Bridge, is very harmful to the vital national interests of RS.

This conclusion was adopted without consensus at the 4th regular session of the Presidency of BiH, on July 16, with two votes in favor, Željko Komšić and Šefik DŽaferović, with one vote against, by the incumbent chairman of the Presidency, Milorad Dodik, who then activated the institute of the protection of vital interests RS.

After Dodik's statement was confirmed at the RS National Assembly last night with 60 votes backing him, the BiH Presidency's conclusion will have no effect. Six MPs voted against and six abstained in the vote of support for Dodik's filing.

The BiH Presidency, through the adopted conclusions, called on the Republic of Croatia to suspend works on the construction of the Pelješac Bridge and to resolve all the open issues with negotiations, as BiH has all the right to exercise its rights in terms of free and unimpeded access to the open seas.

Dodik thinks that the adoption of this conclusion by the BiH Presidency "on the same day when the Agreement on the construction of a bridge on the Sava River near Gradiška was signed, indicates that the damage is trying to be inflicted not only to Croatia, but indirectly it will jeopardize the bridge project on the Sava River near Gradiška, which of vital interest for RS".

In addition to the decision affirming Dodik's statement, the conclusions of the caucuses in the National Assembly proposed by SNSD, DNS, SP, PDP, DEMOS, NDP and ‘Ujedinjena Srpska’ were adopted, in which the RS National Assembly asks all RS representatives in the BiH institutions to insist on resolving all outstanding issues between BiH and Croatia, in particular on the issues of amending the Decision on the adoption of the National Program for the Implementation of the Strategy for the Management of Radioactive Waste Management in Trgovska Gora at the border with BiH.

The conclusions also seek final determining of the international border between BiH and Croatia on the Una River, in Novi Grad, Kostajnica and Kozarska Dubica.

The RSNA also insists that the Croatian Government complies with the obligations related to the construction of the bridge on the Sava River near Gradiška, and that the National Assembly ask all the Serb representatives at all levels in the BiH institutions to reject partial solutions to the border issues with Serbia and Croatia.

The Coalition for BiH and SDS deputies, together with Draško Stanivuković and Jelena Trivić from PDP did not support Dodik's statement, while the head of PDP caucus Perica Bundalo said that “this was their personal opinion.”
