Serbia third greatest investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, July 19 (FENA) - The Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) Gordan Milinić, spoke today with the newly appointed ambassador of BiH to Serbia Aida Smajić on the current economic situation between the two countries with a focus on Serbia's investments in BiH.

Talking about FIPA's work on animating BiH's economic diplomacy over the last three years, he confirmed that this activity led to the organization of a number of economic events attended by numerous foreign investors, resulting in opening companies in BiH and recruiting local people.

According to the data of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by the end of 2017, the Republic of Serbia has invested 2,024 billion KM in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is the third largest investor in BH with a share of 15 percent in total investments.

In addition, the importance of organizing business meetings between BiH and foreign businessmen has been highlighted in order to strengthen economic ties, increase investment and monitor economic events for the inclusion of BiH economy and businessmen in new economic trends.

Ambassadors are expected to establish closer co-operation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and other economic associations with the goal of strengthening economic ties, investments and exports from BiH, said FIPA.
