Wigemark: I don't think BiH is an unstable country

BANJA LUKA, July 31 (FENA) - The head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative to BiH, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, said today that he does not consider, in the least, that BiH is an unstable country.

That, he says, is his personal attitude.

Wigemark added that he could not comment on the allegations made by Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, an EU member state, or by any official from member states.

Grabar-Kitarović argued that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a volatile country where militant Islam exists.

“In BiH, you have a significant international presence, including EUFOR under Operation Altea, as well as many other international organizations, but that does not mean that the country itself is weak,” the head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina told reporters.

The sooner the government is formed, the sooner they will be able to allow the system to function and fully implement the election results.

He is convinced that BiH can become an EU member, but there are a number of measures and decisions that must be implemented to make it happen.

He called for politicians to focus on issues important to citizens.

“The whole story of stability or instability is distracting to, above all, political leaders, but also citizens,” Wigemark said.
