BANJA LUKA, 31 July (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina should implement the recommendations from the European Commission’s Opinion, aiming to make progress on the European path, said the Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and European Union Special Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.
He said that one of the recommendations in the Opinion refers to a more transparent electoral process and numerous issues related to the rule of law, including the adoption of a new law governing the work of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC), but also a general situation in the BiH judiciary.
Ahead of an interactive event on "Your opinion on the Opinion?" of the European Commission on BiH's application for EU membership, Wigemark added that it will address corruption, excessively complicated and inefficient public administration, as well as other recommendations in the Opinion, which are the guidelines that can help BiH in harmonization process towards EU membership.
It is also important to implement a coordination mechanism and develop a program of harmonization with the Acquis of the EU on the country's path to EU membership, Wigemark added.
