Šarović: We are willing to offer leadership positions to DNS and SP

FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, August 2 (FENA) - If the Democratic People's Alliance (DNS) and the Socialist Party (SP) would be interested in discussing a new majority in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, after the collapse of these ongoing negotiations between SNSD, SDA and HDZ BiH, which has been obvious to everyone, we would be ready to let them have all the major leadership positions, of course, if the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), another coalition partner, agrees with this, said the President of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), Mirko Šarović today.

“Theoretically speaking, there are ways of forming a different parliamentary majority, but this is a more difficult and complex way towards forming a new convocation of the BiH Council of Ministers. We have daily communication with political parties that have their MPs in the BiH Parliament, but it is too early to call it negotiations,” said Šarović.

Šarović also referred to a political failure reflected in the nine-month-long stalemate in the formation of the executive power, adding that the way out is difficult to foresee because current negotiators that have the capacity for coalition "have no common denominator other than their desire for power and sharing of the spoils."

“We have to be realistic and say that SDA, HDZ, and SNSD have all the resources and an opportunity to form a new convocation of the Council of Ministers of BiH, but at the same time they have the greatest chance of failing,” stressed Šarović.

The SDS president noted that in the coming period the party will devote itself to addressing important issues such as electoral legislation that has been misused so much by political party “experts”, so, unfortunately, the Election Law and the electoral process today represent the largest and unimaginable area of corruption and crime. We also want as a party to address the role of public broadcasting services in the society and other important everyday issues that will be our priorities in the coming period,” said the SDS President Mirko Šarović.
