Our Party: BH Bloc will be a true opposition to the future government

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 6 (FENA) - Yesterday's agreement on the formation of a Council of Ministers reached by the SDA, SNSD and HDZ and conflicting interpretations of the agreement that have followed gives us new evidence that the leaders of these parties are not interested in anything else but a simple division of power and that in the process they are ready to go back on everything they have promised, everything on which they based their political capital, and because of which they made a number of accusations at the expense of their political opponents, bordering on calls for lynching of their opponents, said in a statement for the press Naša Stranka (Our Party).

Ten months after the general elections, they point out, we have a document titled "Principles for the formation of government at the state level in Bosnia and Herzegovina" which de facto scraps all the principles that stood out as crucial to the process of accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union and NATO.

The underline that the part of the agreement on NATO integration, which for months has been highlighted as a key precondition for government formation, has been reduced to a vague formulation that opens the door to BiH's military neutrality.

“The public should know what has been specifically agreed concerning the NATO path, except that Izetbegović has already started preparing us for this integration process to be significantly slowed down. What kind of slowdown did he agree to? Will the ANP be sent before the formation of the Council of Ministers? How come the process of NATO integration becomes irrelevant overnight and under whose pressure did EU accession become a priority instead? Also, the wording that the judgments of the European and domestic courts will be implemented in accordance with the Constitution and laws clearly indicates that the HDZ will get a monopoly on the representation of Croats in BiH and that the Sejdić-Finci judgment will not be implemented because its implementation requires substantial changes and not the implementation of the Dayton legislation,” naša Stranka points out, listing a number of ambiguities about the signed "principles".

The leaders of the SDA, HDZ, and SNSD did not bother with the everyday problems of citizens, but they did agree to expel the OHR from Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as possible. What is the purpose of such a plan? They owe us an answer.

“The complete marginalization of other political entities involved in the process of state-level government formation confirms that the decision of the BH Bloc has been the right one (SDP BiH and Our Party) not to participate in this sham of a protection of state interests, especially since the principles regarding accession to NATO, the election law amendments and the application of judgments are all in direct conflict not only with the views of BH Bloc but also with recommendations from the European Commission. An example of this is the agreement on "legitimate representation", even though the European Commission's Opinion clearly rejects the strengthening of the ethnic model of government,” it is said in the statement.
