SARAJEVO, August 7 (FENA) - According to the Islamic Community (IS) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first day of Eid al-Adha, or 10th Zul-Hijaj, is on Sunday, August 11, 2019, agency MINA said.
The central Eid ceremony will be held at the Gaza Husrev-bey’s Mosque, where the Eid khutbah will be held by Raisu-l-ulama Husein effendi Kavazović.
The Eid prayer will be held in the Sarajevo area at 6.24 in the morning. The traditional Eid greetings will be held by the raisu-l-ulama will be held on the first day of Eid from 9.30 to 12.00 hours at the raisu-l-ulama office, while a reception for invitations only will be held in the harem of the Emperor's mosque in Sarajevo, starting at 18.30.
Their importance is reflected in the slaughter of the Qurbani - the tradition of the Prophet Abraham of God and the distributing of Qurbani meat to the poor, friends, neighbors, including Hajj - the day of the stay of several million Muslims in the venerable places of Makkah and Medina.
Eid al-Adha lasts four days.
