Zenica miners from 'Stranjani' pit refuse to work and leave pit

FENA Vehid Begunić

ZENICA, August 13 (FENA) - Miners from the second shift of the "Stranjani" pit at the Coal Mine Zenica are refusing to work because ten of their colleagues have not returned from the Raspotočje pit, as previously promised, said in a statement to Fena, Coal Mine Zenica Union President Nijaz Vardo.

These are the workers deployed by the RMU Zenica management to the Raspotočje pit, and now the miners working in the Stranjani pit are rebelling because of a shortage of labor.

"They entered the pit, but said they would not come out. We were there, people from the Management were present, but we couldn't agree. We are monitoring the situation and we will see if they will persist in their decision," says Vardo, adding that there is currently a brigade of miners in the pit.
