FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 22 (FENA) - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the European Union Force (EUFOR) organized a workshop for experts of the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) on weapons and ammunition storage management, from August 20 to 22.

The workshop was held at the ammunition testing laboratory in a Technical Workshop for Repair and Destruction of Ammunition (TROM) in Doboj, the OSCE said.

The workshop was dedicated to ways of monitoring, testing, analyzing, re-evaluating and, if necessary, revising chemical processes and administrative procedures for analyzing ammunition samples in order to determine the degree of stability.

Armed Forces of BiH military experts worked on how to improve the recording, reporting and implementation of chemical analysis procedures in the laboratory, in order to achieve the highest possible level of reliability, efficiency and accuracy in the field of ammunition and explosive devices management.

“By achieving a higher level of ammunition storage security through modern equipment and the laboratory, as well as specially designed workshops for the AFBiH, it greatly contributes to the security of the AFBiH members as well as security in general. The mission will continue to support activities aimed at improving infrastructure security and reducing security risks in ammunition facilities and warehouses,” said Ambassador Bruce G. Berton, Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH.
