MOSTAR, August 25 (FENA) - HNS Department for World War II and the post-war period marked the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarianism, Communism, Nazism and Fascism on Saturday in the "Cemetery of Peace", the memorial area in Bile, in the plateau between Mostar and Široki Brijeg.

The Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, who emphasized in his sermon that everyone has to show their respect for the victims of totalitarian and authoritarian regimes, led the Holy Mass.

He recalled that the twentieth century would remain the bloodiest century, which left a mark on ruthless wars but also on the rule of tyranny based on the totalitarian ideologies of Communism, Fascism and Nazism.

“This terror has not been equal in every period and place, but the crime against human dignity, its freedoms and rights always remains a crime,” said Cardinal Puljić.

The Holy Mass and Commemoration were attended by numerous religious, military, cultural and political officials of the Croatian people from BiH and the Republic of Croatia, including the President of the Croatian National Assembly, Dragan Čović, and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman.

Delegations of the Croatian people on both sides of the border laid flowers and lit candles for all the killed victims of totalitarian ideologies.

Croatian Minister Gordan Grlić Radman said that "we should all remember victims of all totalitarian regimes." At the same time, he did not hide his satisfaction with coming to BiH, pointing out that Croatia is BiH’s greatest advocate for a European path.
