HDZ BiH Presidency urges SDA and SNSD to respect the signed agreement

FENA Press release

MOSTAR, August 26 (FENA) - The Presidency of HDZ BiH announced after its session today that BiH urgently needs a new government in order to remove all obstacles to the continuation of the EU and NATO paths, which must be a priority.

The first step should be the formation of a new Council of Ministers of BiH, with the parties that won the majority of votes in the elections on the principles of the agreement on the formation of the government and at all levels, it is said in the conclusion of the party’s presidency.

The HDZ BiH Presidency called on the SDA and SNSD, who, together with the HDZ BiH, signed an inter-party agreement to implement the election results, to respect the deadlines set out in the said document.

"After that, it is necessary to address the issue of amendments to the Election Law and the implementation of all judgments of European and domestic courts. Any further delay or opening of new problems will lead BiH into a deeper crisis that should not be allowed.

All the HDZ BiH officials will continue to push for an agreement, compromise and solving of all open issues through the dialogue of election winners because that is the only way we can resolve misunderstandings and respond to challenges," concluded the HDZ BiH Presidency.

Members of the HDZ BiH Presidency at today's session also discussed the situation at the company “Aluminij” Mostar.

It is said in the statement that HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović has actively participated in six crisis staff meetings.

“The commitment at the crisis staff helped to take care of all Aluminij employees and the possible resumption of production under free-market conditions.”

The HDZ BiH states that the management of Aluminij should continue to operate at full capacity in all further processes.

The party also condemned "politicizing and manipulating the facts at a time when the crisis staff was doing everything to jumpstart the operation of this Mostar-based company."

The HDZ BiH Presidency urged all competent and judicial institutions in BiH to take all necessary measures and activities in order to investigate and determine potential liabilities for the unlawful and negligent behavior and actions of all those who led the Aluminij Mostar into debt exceeding 400 million KM, and into the state of temporary shutdown.
