FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, August 30 (FENA) - Minister for Physical Planning, Engineering and Ecology of RS Srebrenka Golić reminded today that the Minstry has carried out activities to declare Nature Park ‘Una’, which, will be an additional asset in the fight against Croatia's intention to dispose radioactive and nuclear waste at the location of Trgovska gora.

Golić discussed with the newly appointed Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia, Aleksandar Vranješ, the intention of Croatia to dispose radioactive waste from Krško NPP at the location Čerkezovac-Trgovska Gora, which is near the border with BiH.

She briefed the Ambassador on all the activities undertaken when it comes to this topic and recalled that the Ministry is strongly opposed to Croatia's activities to establish a radioactive waste landfill at the border with BiH, which is in the immediate vicinity of the Una River and the municipality of Novi Grad / Bosanski Novi.

Vranješ said that one of his first activities will be to inform himself in detail about the intentions of Croatia when it comes to the disposal of radioactive waste at the border with BiH, and that he will inform Minister Golić about it, bearing in mind that September is the month when Croatia and Slovenia should hold a joint meeting and define future steps.
