BANJA LUKA, September 2 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said today that it is possible to hold consultations in the coming days regarding the agreement reached between SDA, HDZ and SNSD leaders on forming the state-level government and appointment of chairman of the BiH Council of Minister but that this scenario is unlikely to happen.

He claims that some speculative political reasons, are behind it and that RS will a way to respond to them.

Dodik points out that he “will not launch a revolution immediately after September 5, if the agreement is not implemented,” but that he will respond with a political stance in the RS National Assembly in order to safeguard the position of the entity of RS.

He says he will “try to seek the Serb unity,” but, as he says, the opposition obviously does not care about it, "but it is more important to them to please Izetbegović and the foreigners here."

“What we are doing is not an adventure. Failure to reach an agreement by September 5 does not mean that we will go the RS National Assembly immediately on September 6. We will make a deal, prepare well, and then we will go to the National Assembly. If the opposition does not support us, we have two-thirds majority in the parliament to pass a document with which we will negotiate with the Federation of BiH,” Dodik told reporters after his meeting with Russian Ambassador to BiH Petr Ivantsov, noting that they do not need the support of the opposition in RS at all.

He is convinced that the FBiH will reject the talks, but “this will only show that they are against it all.”

He expects that the EU as well will take its position on everything soon enough.

Russian Ambassador to BiH Petr Ivantsov said when it came to implementing the election results that everything should be done in accordance with the principles of the Dayton Agreement and the equality of the entities and the peoples and on the basis of the electoral will of the voters.

Ivantsov also said that in accordance with the election results, the three leading parties should form a state-level government, and “the candidate for the chairman of the Council of Ministers should come from the Serb people.”

Referring to the issue of the Annual National Program with NATO, Ivantsov said that “the contested issues should be set aside and dialogue should be continued on those contained in the agreement of August 5.”

He also said that Russian companies, such as the owner of the oil industry in the entity of RS Zarubrezhneft, and some others, will continue to operate in RS.
