Nikšić-Radončić: Enable snap elections institute

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 4 (FENA) - President of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDPBiH) Nermin Nikšić met today with President of the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB) Fahrudin Radončić.

They discussed the current political situation, SDP BiH said.

At the meeting, the positions of the two parties regarding changes to the Election Law were clearly agreed.

They also agreed that representatives of these parties in the BiH Parliament urge amendments to the Election Law, which, apart from the introduction of electronic voting and video surveillance at polling stations, would allow the formation of snap elections institute.

The interlocutors assessed that snap elections would be the best, and perhaps the only solution to the current situation in BiH's formation of the government. At the same time, it was stated that it is pointless for next year's local elections to be held if their fair and correct elections cannot be ensured.

They concluded that it is impermissible to hold elections in which one party has the opportunity to change 6,500 election commission members 24 hours before the election, it is said in a statement.
