SARAJEVO, September 10 (FENA) - When asked to comment on the nomination of former Hungarian Justice Minister László Trócsányi as new Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement within the European Commission, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Denis Zvizdić, told reporters that no matter what enlargement commissioner comes from EU member states, they will have to very clearly respect EU foreign policy.

“In this sense, the dynamics of accession to the European Union are much more dependent on the Western Balkan countries, on the fact that we are rapidly adopting the EU acquis, on the fact that we show sufficient willingness to accept the principles on which the EU is based, such as the principle of respect for law and government and human rights, because it will depend on the person who is the Enlargement Commissioner to follow through with that policy,” Zvizdić said.

He noted that as far as Hungary and its prime minister were concerned, they had never shown in any way any negative attitude towards BiH.

“The Prime Minister of Hungary has always expressed a very positive attitude towards BiH. At all the summits I attended and where Prime Minister Viktor Orban was present, he supported enlargement in accordance with the procedures required by the process,” said Zvizdić.

We, he added, support the decisions of the European Commission and "expect that we will have good cooperation with the Commissioner as well as with the entire European Commission, which is crucial and essential for BiH's European path."
