TUZLA, September 10 (FENA) - US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson visited the Tuzla Canton today. He spoke with businessmen from this canton who believe that America's developing economy can be one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's strategic partners.
“One of the main representatives of USAID came today with the Ambassador, with whom we want to establish concrete cooperation. We are very interested in USAID's support in presenting the economy of the Tuzla Canton. We want to establish better cooperation with the US market, because we have very little imports to America and exports are large from America. As for the economy, America is our strategic partner, and imports from America to the Tuzla Canton are about 147 million KM on a six-month level,” said Nedret Kikanović, director of the Tuzla Cantonal Chamber of Commerce.
It is interesting that Tuzla's ‘Intral’ shoe factory produces ballet flats for one of the US companies.
“We were able to develop a project for production of ballet flats for the US market and one US company. We have successfully completed this project and the start of a new ballet production project owned by the American company is underway. The economic potential of the Tuzla Canton is very visible, and now we will see in what way industry will use the opportunities and in what direction the projects implemented by USAID will go,” said Alija Šehović, Director of the Intral shoe factory.
US Ambassador Eric Nelson also visited Mayor of Tuzla Jasmin Imamović and the Municipality of Živinice.
