Lord Ahmad: United Kingdom supports BiH's progress on Euro-Atlantic path

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 11 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić visited London on Tuesday to attend a memorial service for the late Lord Paddy Ashdown.

Komšić also held a series of meetings on various issues in the field of bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He met with the Minister in the Cabinet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the British Prime Minister's Special Representative on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict, Lord Tariq Ahmad.

They discussed the formation of a government in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH's progress on its Euro-Atlantic path, and experiences in dealing with issues of sexual violence in conflict, as part of talks at the upcoming Global Summit on ending sexual violence in conflict in November in London.

“It was my pleasure to welcome Chairman Komšić to the United Kingdom. The Western Balkans Summit held in London last year underlined our continued and steady commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The United Kingdom supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's progress on its Euro-Atlantic path and in meeting its responsibilities to victims of sexual violence in conflict. We continue to work together towards a common goal - a strong and stable Western Balkans," Lord Ahmad said after the meeting, the BiH Presidency stated.
