SARAJEVO, September 12 (FENA) - The European Union-funded IPAK program has organized a group of anti-corruption bodies, media and NGOs to develop criteria, procedures and establish an award called "Good Anti-Corruption Practices", IPAK project team leader Zoran Jačev told FENA.

He added that "there are too many examples of negative corruption, the media is full of information regarding bad corruption events, and what needs to be done in the fight against corruption is a prominent and positive example."

“The idea of these practices, i.e. these awards, is to identify, inform the public and create a basis for the spread of such practices to other levels and other parts of BiH,” said Jačev.

He stated that so far the task force had established criteria for selecting practices.

“These should be practices that are not too complicated, that can be replicated elsewhere and not be something that is isolated. They should really contribute to the reduction of corruption and that it is something that will awaken the hope of citizens that it is possible to fight corruption after all,” said Jačev.

He added that the Commission has so far determined its composition, criteria, procedures, and it remains to call for applications, to nominate candidates and to decide which awards should be handed.

The award is scheduled to be awarded for the first time on December 9 on the International Anti-Corruption Day.
