MOSTAR, September 13 (FENA) - British Embassy in BiH organized a series of activities today in Mostar, during which British Ambassador Matthew Field talked with citizens and visited educational institutions and NGOs.
“The whole British Embassy is in Mostar today to show interest in this city, but also to directly hear its citizens, to get to know their needs and problems,” said British Ambassador Matthew Field in a press release.
According to him, the UK is aware of the problems Mostar is facing.
“We cannot consider it normal for this situation that there have been no local elections in Mostar for eleven years. It is a shame for democracy in the country. This is a myriad of lost opportunities for citizens here,” Ambassador Field said.
In continuation of today's activities, the British Ambassador will visit the United World College in Mostar, where he will talk with students about problems of young people and their future. He will also visit Četvrta osnovna škola (the Fourth Elementary School), where he will give an interactive lesson in English.
The visit to Mostar will end with a concert by the British Embassy band tonight at the Center for children and youth with special needs Los Rosales. The money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the Los Rosales Center.
