SARAJEVO, September 18 (FENA) - The Sarajevo International Halal Fair (SHF) will once again bring together halal industry representatives from the countries of Southeast Europe and the world, as well as multinational companies that are present in the global market with halal products and services.

The SHF is organized for the second time by Bosnia Bank International (BBI), Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) and the IsDB Group Business Forum THIQAH, in cooperation with the Islamic Community in BiH, and will be held in Sarajevo from 26 to 28 September under the auspices of the Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović.

The partner of the fair is the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, and the SC Prime Minister Edin Forto said that they have recognized the importance of SHF for the economy of the canton and the entire country.

“In the talks held with the organizers, we realized that this is one of those rare events that put Sarajevo on the world map. There are no such events in the region that provide an opportunity for our companies to be present on the growing halal food market. This is something that we will support in the future as it is an opportunity for all that we are fighting for, and that is employment and economic growth,” Forto said at a press conference on the occasion of the upcoming SHF.

The CEO of Bosnia Bank International (BBI) Amer Bukvić said that this is a good example of a public-private partnership for the benefit of citizens and BiH as a whole.

“This year, we expect an even bigger event than last year, large delegations from all over the world will participate and this positions Sarajevo as the center for halal food production for Europe. In addition to food, tourism promotion is also a focus.

Also, the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia is organizing an event together with us in promoting halal tourism on both sides - BiH and Malaysia. A big delegation from Saudi Arabia is also coming with whom we are doing business meetings with companies in BiH, trying to open to them a dimension of eventual food production in BiH designated for the entire European market,” said Bukvić.
