BANJA LUKA, September 18 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the RS National Assembly Senad Bratić (SDA) submitted his irrevocable resignation from the post today.

His resignation came after a special session of the RSNA has been requested by the ruling majority parties in the entity parliament demanding Bratić's dismissal.

In a statement to the press, Bratić told reporters that he was resigning because of an initiative to dismiss him from his post as the Bosniak people's Deputy Speaker of the RSNA, not wanting the initiative to contribute to the raising of interethnic tensions and confrontations.

He said that the RS government's initiative for his dismissal aims to portray their political powerlessness as supremacy and to link the political processes and basic lack of understanding of things with inter-ethnic relations.

He emphasized that the governing majority in RS is heading in the wrong direction.

A special session of the RSNA has been requested by a certain number of members of the parliamentary majority.

Recently adopted Declaration of the SDA is also the topic of today's session of the SNSD Main Board in Banja Luka to be held this afternoon.

In an explanation of the request to schedule a session, the deputies claim that "the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) at its last congress adopted a political declaration that is directed against the interests of Republika Srpska and deeply encroaches on the existing state structure that guarantees the status of RS and the Serb people as a constituent people."

The SNSD also announced conclusions regarding the SDA's stance. This was also the topic of last night's meeting between SDS President Mirko Šarović and PDP President Branislav Borenović with SNSD leader Milorad Dodik in Laktaši, and on Saturday they plan to go to Belgrade to discuss this issue with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
