Crnadak informs Feruta on nuclear waste disposal in Trgovska gora

VIENNA / SARAJEVO, September 18 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak met today with acting Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Cornel Feruta in Vienna.

The main topics of the meeting were the continuation of BiH's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the problem of the nuclear waste landfill in Trgovska gora.

Crnadak informed acting Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency with specific reasons why BiH is strongly opposed to construction of landfill at the location of Trgovska gora, as announced by the Republic of Croatia.

BiH Foreign Minister said that institutions at all levels will be involved in intensive cooperation of BiH with the International Atomic Energy Agency on this issue. He expressed hope that good cooperation between BiH and IAEA, which contributed to the improvement of nuclear security in BiH, will continue in other areas as well.

Crnadak wished success to the new acting Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

In the afternoon, Crnadak will address at the 53rd General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, the BiH MFA stated.
