SARAJEVO, September 19 (FENA) - Airline company FlyBosnia has connected Sarajevo and London this summer, with a first direct flight between the two cities after 12 years.
Armin Kajmaković, Managing Director of the Sarajevo International Airport, said that by establishing this air link, the airport continues its corporate growth in all fields, which contributes to strengthening the country's business image and developing tourism potential.
FlyBosnia CEO Tarik Bilalbegović said that the flights between BiH and UK will operate on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
“We are working to connect Sarajevo with major European cities, London was our first challenge, followed by direct routes to Rome and Paris in October and November respectively,” Bilalbegović added.
He stressed that they also plan to establish flights to Moscow, Barcelona, and Milan.
The British Ambassador to BiH Matthew Field was also on the promotional flight, pointing out that the two countries are strengthening ties in the fields of tourism, culture, as well as between people and between companies.
"This direct line between Sarajevo and London will make a special contribution to the strengthening of these links," Field said.
FlyBosnia on its flight today brought about a hundred representatives of the UK media and tourism sector who will stay in BiH for the next few days.
