SARAJEVO, September 22 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović said yesterday that the Declaration of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) is a decades-long political stance and vision of BiH which implies equality for all citizens in every part of the country.
SDA does not impose its Declaration on anyone by force or threat, but on the contrary, constantly calls for dialogue. It is quite clear that a change of the Constitution can only be achieved through dialogue and a two-thirds and an entity majority in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
"The SDA Declaration is not a threat to anyone, not to Serb people, nor to the RS entity. Therefore, Milorad Dodik's reactions are nothing more than an attempt to seek an alibi in the SDA Declaration for his own announcement of a breach of the obligations of the Dayton Peace Agreement. Dodik is doing so by presenting theses such as the "threat to the Serbian people" and the "right to self-determination", which are the points that Milošević’s regime launched in the 1990s as an introduction to aggression," Džaferović said.
He said that the position of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to fully respect the Dayton Peace Agreement is welcome, and that it is Serbia's duty as a signatory party.
"His view to address all issues through dialogue is welcome. Indicative, however, is the absence of Vučić's reaction to Dodik's announcements of the secession of the RS entity, as well as the SNSD's 2015 declaration announcing the secession, as this is the true and only threat to the Dayton Peace Agreement. It would be necessary for Vučić, as President of the State signatory to the Dayton Peace Agreement, to make a clear and unambiguous decision on this issue," said Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović
