SARAJEVO, September 23 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić had a meeting today with representatives of the FBiH Independent Mines Workers Union and General Manager of Elektroprivreda BiH, Bajazit Jašarević, pointing out that mines operating within Elektroprivreda BiH Concern should make a transparent reorganization plan within 60 days.
Minister Džindić said at a press conference after the meeting that certain unions had "false information that someone wants to close some of the mines", as well as regarding the block construction project at the Banovići coal mine.
"As for the future of construction of the block in Banovići, it is the decision of the Management of Banovići Mine, not the Ministry," said Džindić.
"We also discussed the appointment of the management. Coal Mine Zenica will get new management by Friday, or no later than Monday. The acting CEO was given the task a few days ago to interview several candidates. It is really difficult at the moment for anyone to accept these functions, but we asked for an extra effort to be made to conduct interviews and appoint the management as soon as possible," said Džindić.
