Presidency Chairman Komšić visits 9/11 National Memorial Museum in New York

FENA Press release

NEW YORK/SARAJEVO, September 27 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić visited the 9/11 National Memorial Museum in New York and paid tributeto the innocent victims of the terrorist attack that happened 18 years ago in this city.

Komšić said that this brutal terrorist act against citizens of New York and the United States has led to a global change in attitude toward terrorism, and that, unfortunately, extreme ideologies never sleep, and tragedies similar to this are still happening today around the world.

“The realization that forty percent of the victims who were killed on September 11 during the attack on the World Trade Center towers have never been found or identified, is a deep and indescribable emotion.

I can only imagine how it is for the families of the victims. We in BiH sympathize with the citizens of New York and the United States because, not too long ago, we experienced a similar fate. That is why we all have to persevere in the fight against terrorism, all forms of violence and extreme ideologies,” said Chairman Komšić, the BiH Presidency announced.

He stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue making a full contribution to this common struggle.

“We must do this for the sake of future generations who need to live in peace and freedom,” concluded the BiH Presidency Chairman.
