SARAJEVO, October 1 (FENA) - Chief of the Joint Staff for Armed Forces Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), Lieutenant General Senad Mašović attended a ceremony on the handover of duty organized in honor of the new US Army Joint Chief of Staff.
The ceremony was held at Myer-Henderson Hall Base in the state of Virginia, on Monday.
In the presence of the most important US state and military officials, as well as senior non U.S. Officials, Army General Mark A. Milley took oath as 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces.
This was particularly important event for the country as it was confirmed by the presence of a large number of officials, including US President Donald J. Tramp, Vice President Michael R. Pence, Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper and other senior military and US State Department civilian officials.
In his speech, General Mark A. Milley thanked everyone who responded to the invitation to the ceremony, which, he emphasized, was "proof that we all share common values."
In addition to attending the ceremony, AFBiH Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Senad Mašović had an opportunity to meet with senior military officials of the US Armed Forces and the US Department of Defense, as well as representatives of other armed forces who attended the ceremony.
Mašović also met with the Adjutant General of the Maryland National Guard, Major General Timothy Gowen, to discuss the AFBiH and NG Maryland cooperation so far and possibilities of enhancing it.
Head of the Office of the Joint Staff of AF BiH, Brigadier Edin Fako and BiH Military Attaché to the United States, Brigadier Zoran Batarilo also attended the event as part of the AFBiH military delegation, stated BiHMoD Public Relations Office.
