SARAJEVO, October 9 (FENA) - As a candidate for Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein effendi Kavazović presented his election program today to members of the electorate of the Goražde Mufti.
“Our goal is that our Muslims have service of the Islamic Community (IC) at every point of this world,” Kavazović said.
Kavazović considers it extremely important that in the future the IC is preserved as an autonomous community of Bosnian Muslims and all those who belong to it, and not to allow others to influence it and to implement their policies through it.
Talking about plans for future action, Kavazović singled out the adoption of four systematic rulebooks within the IC, such as the rulebook on service in the IC, which would regulate relations within the Community, as well as relations with the state.
The rulebook on membership fees, which is the most significant but also the most difficult to implement, should also be adopted, and then the rulebook on investment and concession within the IC, because in the future, as he said, "the community will have to open the possibility of entering into partnerships".
He also referred to the position of the IC in the world and said that it is the strongest Islamic community in Europe, and it is welcomed both in the East and in the West.
In the end, he recalled that the function of the Raisu-l-ulama is a public good of the Islamic community, MINA reports.
The elections for the new Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH will be held on October 12, and members of the electoral body will choose between two candidates - Husein effendi Kavazović and Muamer effendi Zukorlić.
