SARAJEVO, October 13 (FENA) - The newly elected Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community (IC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, has announced that the IC will remain committed to the standards that have been in place so far, and that it will keep its present course.

He stressed that the whole process of electing the new Raisu-l-ulama was democratic and transparent and that this was great victory for the Islamic Community.

“We all voted for Raisu-l-ulama today. The community is whole and united and continues to develop itself. It does not need to change the course, but the speed perhaps,” said Kavazović.

“I will use everything that is good from my opponents' programs. I will equally treat every part of the Islamic Community, from America to Australia. We will continue to develop relations with other religious communities and to be open to all ideas. The Islamic Community should fight everything that is evil and bad in society. I consider this to be a great victory for the Islamic Community,'' Kavazović concluded.

Kavazović's opponent, Muamer ef. Zukorlić, stressed that the two candidates had different programs but did not differ in the course of the Islamic Community.

He said that the Islamic Community should develop more dynamically and effectively, but he announced that they all will jointly serve the IC in BiH.
