FENA Press release

LUKAVAC, October 16 (FENA) - Despite many difficulties the company has faced in the last two years, production at Global Ispat Coke Industry Lukavac (GIKIL) recorded stable operating results.

During nine months of 2019, 340.000 tons of coke were exported from the Koksara plant, while the planned export for the month of October increased by 25 percent. Total planned exports for 2019 amounted to 500.000 tons, which is a realization of a business plan that follows last year's result, it is said in a statement from GIKIL.

Despite strong competition on the market, after the restart of production, Azotara factory have managed to maintain their status on the BiH market and be number one with their product KAN among domestic consumers when it comes to use of fertilizers.

In addition to BiH market, and traditionally Croatia and Serbia, KAN found its place among buyers in Austria, Macedonia, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia this year.

According to the Deputy Managing Director, the plan is to continue production growth in all GIKIL manufacturing plants by the end of the year, thus maintaining the status of the largest exporter in the Tuzla Canton, and one of the largest exporters in BiH.

Stable production, planned growth and development, as well as continued significant investment in environmental protection, will not only keep jobs of a thousand employees, but also create new ones, as well as expanding the business network, thus contributing to the development of the Tuzla Canton, the Federation of BiH and the overall economy in the country.
