SARAJEVO, October 16 (FENA) – Situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina will have the status quo until the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) accepts that an entity cannot control a state and that the constitutional and legal order of BiH cannot be violated.
President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović said this today when answering a question on the government formation, bearing in mind that general elections were held a year ago.
“SNSD must understand that the Constitution and the rule of law must be respected, as well as all laws and strategies,” emphasized Izetbegović.
He also commented on the statement of the President of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS), Mirko Šarović, that if the SDS initiated state-level government formation processes it would be relatively easy to achieve, but Izetbegović says he does not know what would happen.
“We now have a functioning BiH Council of Ministers and we could get the same convocation of the Council of Ministers again, but I do not believe that the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) of BiH would be in favor of such an option,” Izetbegović concluded.
