RS Government claims that Action Plan was adopted without their consent

FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, October 17 (FENA) - Republika Srpska Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation claims that BiH Council of Ministers adopted Action Plan for the implementation of priorities from the European Commission Analytical Report at the session held on Tuesday, which is an integral part of the Commission's Opinion on BiH's application for EU membership without the consent of the RS Government.

Although the relevant RS institutions participated in defining and harmonizing all measures for the implementation of priorities within their responsibility, the Council of Ministers adopted the Action Plan without the consent of the RS Government, the RS Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation stated.

They claim that it is incorrect that the adopted document contains 729 measures for the implementation of 115 European Commission priorities.

Institutions in BiH have harmonized 691 measures, while the remaining 38 measures are still in the process of harmonization, which is taking place within the mechanism of coordination of the European integration process. Until such measures are harmonized within the coordination mechanism, they cannot be treated as an integral part of the Action Plan, it is said in a statement.

The RS government remains committed to the European integration process with full respect for constitutional competencies as well as compliance with the harmonized coordination mechanism. They urge the Council of Ministers, which, they claim, have a technical mandate, to stop adopting documents without the consent of the RS government.
