Ružnić: USC wants the Vučjak issue to be dealt with by state-level officials

FENA Press release

BIHAĆ, October 18 (FENA) - The Una-Sana Canton Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić made a statement today responding to the appeal by the Federation of BiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić that the USC government allocates a portion of four million KM allocated to them from the FBiH Government and make it urgently operational to the City of Bihać to be able to at least mitigate the situation at Vučjak reception center until this issue is resolved by state-level officials.

Ružnić says in a press release that the cantonal government is "confused and surprised with this appeal”, adding that the said funds are from the Current Grants to other levels of government and the funds - cantons and municipalities, where funds in the amount of four million KM are in fact designated as financial assistance to the Una-Sana Canton for health care purpose and to establish a satisfying safety situation in the USC, based on the FBiH Parliament conclusion.

"The FBiH Government did not allocate funds to the City of Bihać in determining the criteria for allocating these grants, but strictly earmarked the funds for the constitutional competencies of the canton - health care and safety situation," Ružnić underlined.

Ružnić also added that the USC Government has, through its own resources, assisted the City of Bihać with a number of projects, including financial resources for the purpose of securing the conditions for the commissioning of the Vučjak camp.

The USC Prime Minister said that he welcomes the announcement by Prime Minister Novalić that the problem of Vučjak will be solved by state-level officials.

The next meeting of the Task Force for Coordination and Control of Migration Crisis in the USC area is scheduled for Monday in Bihać, "which would be a perfect opportunity for the FBiH Prime Minister and the FBiH Migration HQ (which does not include any representatives from the Una-Sana Canton and probably that is why they received inaccurate information about the real situation) they get acquainted with the situation on the ground and finally take an active role in solving this problem," said USC Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić.
