BIHAĆ, October 21 (FENA) - Civil Protection Administration of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) will finance the supply of drinking water and garbage removal from the temporary reception center in Vučjak near Bihać by the end of the year, the Task Force for Coordination and Control of Migration Crisis in the USC confirmed today.

"Given the seriousness of the situation, we will finance the supply of drinking water and removal of garbage from the camp in Vučjak by the end of the year. We are expecting a request from the Bihać City Administration and regardless of the amount required, we are ready to help in full capacity,” said USC Civil Protection Administration Director Dževad Livaković.

This decision was preceded by the decision of Bihać Mayor Šuhret Fazlić to stop financing the needs of the temporary reception center in Vučjak with money from the city budget.

"I just repeat what I have already said few times, we cannot take care of these people by ourselves. The budget of the citizens of Bihać is managed by the mayor and I believe that we can no longer allocate funds for the needs of the camp. For two years, we have been dealing with this problem ourselves, and we are constantly getting humanity lessons from everyone else. If anyone has the right solution and money, he/she is welcome," said Mayor Fazlić.

The USC Ministry of Interior also presented accurate data on the current security situation, emphasizing that 36.323 migrants and refugees were recorded in the Canton this year.

"In the first nine months of this year, migrants committed 168 criminal offenses. We also recorded about 300 violations of law and order and 690 incident situations. More than 17.000 out of 36.323 recorded migrants in the USC this year came via the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Talgo train. In spite of all this, police officers continue to fully control the security aspect of the situation," said the USC Minister of the Interior Nermin Kljajić.

Due to this information, we appealed the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Railways and FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić to suspend the Sarajevo - Bihać and Tuzla - Bihać routes at least temporarily, it was announced at today's meeting.

One of the conclusions of the Task Force is the need to close temporary centers of Bira and Miral, and to relocate these people outside the urban areas. Also, Medeno Polje site has once again been emphasized as the only possible solution to the problem, that is, the formation of an adequate camp to accommodate the majority of migrants currently residing in Bihać, Cazin and Velika Kladuša.
