BANJA LUKA, October 23 (FENA) - Coalition cooperation between the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and the Democratic People's Alliance (DNS) is not questionable, and some of the challenges that have been imposed at various levels need to be addressed, from local to overall collaboration.
Following a meeting of delegations of the two parties in Banja Luka today, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said there were some problems with lower levels of government when it came to the distribution of functions.
We have agreed to stop all appointments now and the Government will not do anything about it until an agreement is reached at the overall level, where 17 functions belong to DNS, which is almost solved and there is no problem. But you have the second and third levels, and we need to discuss and solve that,” Dodik said at a press conference.
DNS President Marko Pavić said that both parties have expressed their determination to continue working to enhance their cooperation.
He announced a new meeting where he will talk about more concrete conclusions.
“The aim of the meeting was to resolve many, conditionally speaking, problems that were burdening this party's relations with the SNSD. The big question is whether they have such significance that should burden these relations. We have initiated a lot of things, how to improve life in the RS, parliament and work at the BiH level. It is not possible in such a short period of time to systematize these things therefore next week we will hold a meeting again and draw conclusions,” Pavić said.
On October 5, the DNS presidency decided to halt further activities under the coalition Agreement with the SNSD at all levels, "disappointed with its attitude to the DNS", both at the entity and local levels, reflected in constant and frequent dismissals, mistrust, suspicion of DNS personnel, denial of performance and disabling our work in full capacity".
