SARAJEVO, November 5 (FENA) - Members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Speaker of the House Denis Zvizdić and his deputies Nebojša Radmanović and Borjana Krišto met with Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Kathleen Kavalec in Sarajevo today and discussed many issues in which BiH-OSCE cooperation is being realized.
They discussed electoral legislation and improvement of the electoral process, the rule of law, education, free speech, gender equality, as well as human rights issues that are closely related to the issue of migration.
Speaking about the deadlock in the work of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Speaker Zvizdić stressed that there are no new steps in eliminating the deadlock, but expressed his hope that dialogue would bring positive outcome.
As it was pointed out, a separate memorandum of understanding is being prepared between the OSCE Mission to BiH and the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, which will seek to arrange joint work on drafting strategic documents and setting common goals.
Kavalec announced enhanced engagement of the Mission in improving legislative acts in the area of parliamentary oversight, conflicts of interest, as well as improving the rules of procedure of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
She expressed her expectation that in the coming period the BiH Parliamentary Assembly will intensively work on solutions that increase public participation in legislative process and contribute to greater citizen participation in the creation and adoption of laws, PR Office of the BiH PA stated.
