VIENNA / SARAJEVO, November 7 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Security Dragan Mektić met with Helmut Teichmann, State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community in Vienna today.
The two officials discussed the migration situation in the region, with an emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mektić informed Teichmann on the current situation, problems that relevant institutions are facing, pointing out that the BiH Ministry of Security, in cooperation with the lower levels of government, is trying to provide adequate accommodation for migrants before the coming winter.
BiH Minister of Security also emphasized the need to strengthen control of the eastern border in order to reduce the number of illegal entries into BiH. Teichmann announced the German Government's assistance to the BiH Border Police, and heads of the border police of the two countries will discuss about concrete aspects of cooperation.
Mektić invited Federal Minister of the Interior of Germany and State Secretary of the Interior Ministry in an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss other forms of co-operation between BiH and Germany, the BiH Ministry of Security stated.
