BANJA LUKA, November 8 (FENA) - BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik claims it is unacceptable to place the BiH flag as a common symbol in BiH.
He submitted a request to the Constitutional Court of BiH yesterday for a review of the constitutionality of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Flag of BiH, as he says it is not in accordance with the BiH Constitution, which states that "the symbols of BiH are decided by the Parliamentary Assembly and confirmed by the Presidency".
“The BiH Presidency has never confirmed the amendments to the law, and in that respect it is not valid,” Dodik said in a statement to Banja Luka journalists today, stating that he expects confirmation of the court and that the flag should be "removed".
On the occasion of an initiative to amend the Rules of Procedure of the BiH Parliament, he accused SDS and PDP MPs of complicating the situation and trying to impose other levels of government on BiH institutions.
At the session of the RS National Assembly on Monday, one of the items that will be strongly emphasized is the amendments to the RS Criminal Code, in which any deviation from the officially established positions of the RS (President, Parliament and Government) will be treated as a criminal offense and will be considered as a punishment,” he announced.
He says he agrees with the French President Emmanuel Macron's statement on BiH as a "time bomb" in terms of possible terrorist acts, stating that "no one serious thinks otherwise."
“Unlike many who might be happy to say that Macron also endorsed some of the positions we are talking about, I can only express additional concern, because a serious president like Macron certainly does not give such views easily. We should not ignore those positions, but try to engage the institutions in both RS and BiH to combat it,” he said.
He said no one from citizens’ group “Justice for David” called him to the Banja Luka prosecutor's office on Monday, where they will gather to mark the 600th day since the gathering of truth-seekers in this case began.
